Need picture1978 GMC SIERRA |
August 12th, 2007 08:44:35 am, posted by Glen Morrow |
I have a 1978 Gmc Sierra Classic pickup. I bought the truck in 1977 and have had it all this time. It is now being restored. I want to restore it to the facotry condition when I bought it. I have successfully restored the interior to what it was and the exterior has had all small dents removed and is being repainted to the original color of dark blue and light blue. For the most part, I can remember and have pictures showing the way it was painted, except for the hood. My problem is, I remember that the hood was painted in two tone, like the rest of the truck, and had either two or three different colored tapes that went from the grill to the end of the hood at the windshield. Unfortunately, I don\'t have a picture of the hood itself, to give to my body man. I also remember it having a hood ornament that showed the GMC emblem. My hood that I currently have, has a raised flat ridge in the center. The only ornament that I have been able to find is one that fits on a pointed ridge instead of a flat ridge.
If anyone has any pictures of what that original paint job on the hood would look like, please send a picture showing the hood as it should be, to gmorrow1@verizon.net.
THANK YOU !!
